OBDSTAR P50 Airbag Crash Data Reset Tool
The OBDSTAR P50 is a dedicated tablet for professional crash-data repair work on supported SRS control modules. It provides ECU-specific reset functions, part-number search and connection guidance in a compact touchscreen device.
P50 vs P50 G2: Which Version Should You Choose?
Both models offer airbag crash-data reset, battery reset and steering-angle-sensor reset for supported modules. The main differences are how you operate the tool and the available expansion options.
| Feature | OBDSTAR P50 | OBDSTAR P50 G2 |
|---|---|---|
| Operation & display | Handheld tablet with a built-in 5-inch touchscreen; operated directly on the tool. | PC-based interface operated through a separate Windows computer connected by USB. |
| Software platform | Android 5.1.1 on the device. | P50 G2 software for Windows 10 or later. |
| Power & setup | Internal rechargeable battery; vehicle or external power is required for applicable operations. | External DC power supply plus a USB connection to the computer. |
| CAN FD applications | Supported procedures may require a separate CAN FD adapter; check the ECU instructions. | CAN FD is listed among the interface's supported protocols; follow the module-specific cable and adapter instructions. |
| Optional software expansion | Paid cluster-calibration authorization is available separately. | Optional ECU MASTER A, B or C configurations add further ECU functions. |
Choosing between them: Choose P50 for direct touchscreen operation, or P50 G2 for a Windows workstation setup and optional ECU MASTER expansion. Verify the exact ECU part number, software authorization and required accessories for either model; coverage and kit contents must be checked individually.

Key Features
- Airbag crash reset: Clear stored crash data on supported modules through the connection method specified for that ECU.
- Module diagnostics and data: Read ECU information and fault codes, erase supported DTCs, and access EEPROM, FLASH or VIN-writing functions where listed.
- Guided identification: Search full or partial ECU part numbers and follow the supplied bench wiring diagrams.
- Additional reset applications: Selected battery-management, steering-angle-sensor and ECM crash-reset coverage is documented separately by OBDSTAR.
Vehicle & ECU Compatibility
Match the ECU part number before purchase. Coverage is module-specific. A vehicle brand, model or year alone does not confirm support, and available operations differ between ECUs.
OBDSTAR's P50 coverage release dated September 30, 2026 includes more than 17,000 airbag part-number entries. Representative brands include:
| North American | Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Jeep, Lincoln, Tesla |
|---|---|
| Asian | Acura, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Isuzu, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota |
| European | Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Porsche, Volkswagen, Volvo |
Examples from the manufacturer's airbag coverage file:
| Brand | ECU Part Number | Listed Connection |
|---|---|---|
| Ford | CN15-14B321-BE | OBD / Bench |
| Hyundai | 95910-3V200 | Bench |
| Toyota | 89170-0E160 | Bench |
These examples do not establish coverage for other part numbers. Check the required software, method and adapters for the exact module.

Adapters & Software
Supported bench jobs use the appropriate connection hardware, such as the P004 adapter and jumper leads. The P004 supports switchable CAN termination, CAN and K-line connections. Accessories vary with the supplied configuration; confirm the included adapters with Keysrus. Additional adapters may be required for particular modules.
OBDSTAR states that new-device registration includes one year of software updates, with paid renewal thereafter. Cluster-calibration authorization is a separate paid option. IMMO/key programming is not supported by the P50.
Before Use
For trained automotive technicians. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's SRS repair procedures, replace damaged or deployed safety components as required, and verify the completed repair. Clearing crash data alone does not repair an airbag system.
